Hanna Hultner was married to Georg Hultner. Georg Hultner owned and operated Borensbergs Glasbruk. In 1923, Georg Hultner bought the manor Sjövik outside Borensberg. Georg Hultner was interested in both contemporary art and cultural expressions, so Sjövik became a gathering place for people from the cultural elite. The boarding house-like home was visited by Selma Lagerlöf, Werner v Heidenstam, Anders de Wahl, Bruno Liljefors and others. Hanna's education came in handy when she became head of the household and that Hanna was a "brilliant hostess with high social skills. Georg Hultner died in 1932 and Hanna was left alone at Sjövik but remarried in 1937 to the artist Paul Engdahl. Hanna Hultner died in 1957.
At the same time as this portrait, Ivar Kamke made one of Georg Hultner who has been at Östergötlands Museum since Hanna's death.
