Description

Originally a cabinet piano converted into a writing cabinet veneered with mahogany, maple and ebonized wood.

Fittings & ornaments of gilt bronze. fittings in the form of lyre-playing Sappho signed “E”, centered at the top of the cabinet,
executed by Carl Enhörning (medal engraver active in Stockholm 1788
1821).

above glazed double doors with decoration of flanking herms, rear interior of nineteen drawers, the sides with carrying handles,
skirt with flap enclosed by concave
cabinet doors with rear shelf trim, finishing
lion paws with carousels. Length 126,5, width 67, height 191 cm.
Key included.

Condition

Age and wear and tear, cracks on the underside on both sides. Column cracked on the right side. Ebonized wooden boards on top cracked. Later hinges and locks. The box insert on the upper part appears as later manufacture.
