For Mother's Day 2025, GUBI proudly presents Mother Made, an exhibition celebrating the power of women as creators and changemakers.
Mother Made honors the spirit and skill of women artisans through handcrafted editions of Pierre Paulin's Pacha Chair by textile artist Nina Ferlov and creative collective Pura Utz. The exhibition highlights the intimate journey from conception to creation and goes beyond to illuminate the often-unseen contributions of women in shaping their communities and preserving vital cultural traditions.
Mother Made extends digitally through a charity auction hosted by Palsgaard Kunstauktioner. The three reimagined Pacha Chairs will be available for bidding online until the 3rd of June, with 100% of proceeds directly supporting UNICEF Denmark's critical work to ensure safe births, access to clean water, and uninterrupted education in marginalized regions.

Nina Ferlov is celebrated for her intricate compositions combining embroidery and watercolor techniques. Educated at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen, she has collaborated with renowned textile brands such as Georg Jensen Damask and Kvadrat. As an educator and artist, Ferlov continually inspires the next generation through her dedication and craftsmanship.
In her two handcrafted editions of the Pacha Chair, Nina Ferlov translates embroidery into storytelling, layering silk scraps and threads to create textile compositions reminiscent of watercolors. Her art symbolizes the gentle yet enduring transmission of women's knowledge across generations, channeling the rhythmic and fluid nature of knowledge. These Pacha Chairs seamlessly blend artistry with advocacy, emphasizing education as essential nourishment for communities. Both chairs are fully upholstered in Lupo Special Diagonal Bouclé by Dedar (007) and rest on a Pearl Gold swivel base.
Measurements: depth 85 cm x width 77 cm x height 65 cm. Seat height: 37 cm

Legendary French designer Pierre Paulin originally designed the Pacha Lounge Chair in 1975. Paulin designed the chair in harmony with the changing design style of its period, replacing the austerity of post-war design with a new, vigorous approach. Paulin managed to give a real elegance to the rounded forms of the Pacha Lounge Chair by finding the perfect proportions, raising it lightly on its base and tracing in the foam and upholstery with stitching lines inclined inwards. Through pieces like the Pacha Lounge Chair, Pierre Paulin pioneered low-level living; a modern way of living and sitting on the floor, by getting rid of chair legs. With comfort as the constant starting-point in his designs, the curvaceous, whimsical and organic shapes of the Pacha Chair are conceived to serve the body, providing both comfort and cosiness. Looking at contemporary today as when it first was designed, the Pacha Lounge Chair is an honest, functional piece that brings life and character to any interior setting.
